This project involved the complete renovation of a 130 sqm apartment in Milan for a young family with two children. The aim was to redesign the layout and create a home that feels contemporary, welcoming, and highly functional.
The entrance is conceived as a calm threshold, where natural tones and textured surfaces gently introduce the interiors. Beyond the corridor, the kitchen becomes the true heart of the home – a domestic “agora.” Clad in travertine and natural oak, it features bespoke furniture and clean lines that define a sober, elegant aesthetic. The travertine island anchors conviviality, while service areas are discreetly concealed behind flush doors integrated into the cabinetry. Subtle vintage-inspired details add warmth and character.
From here, the house unfolds in a fluid sequence connecting kitchen, dining, and living areas. Openings within a large functional wall allow the spaces to transform: closed, they create more intimate rooms; open, they merge into one expansive environment. The living area is therefore flexible, adapting to different moments of the day.
The same material coherence continues in the night area. In the master bedroom, raffia-clad walls and custom wardrobes create a soft, enveloping atmosphere, enriched by handcrafted brass handles and darker accents. In the children’s room, a desk positioned to enjoy elevated views is paired with a multifunctional wardrobe featuring open shelving, balancing storage and lightness.
The bathrooms follow a strong material narrative, combining two wall finishes in each space. The bespoke vanities are crafted in arabescato marble, selected in different tonal variations.
